When it comes to text input systems on smartphones there are a lot of options out there, but the latest one which has got many people excited in Swiftkey. It might be time to trade-in your mobile for an Android to try it!

Although many Android users have adopted input systems such as ThickButtons which predicts the next possible letter and enlarges the key, and Swype in which users swipe their finger over letters to make a word, Swiftkey shows a lot of promise.

Having released a beta version of the app on the Android market back in July, the full version is now available to download, and offers an incredibly accurate predictive text system making typing easy and efficient.

The makers TouchType Ltd called the accuracy of words typed ‘Fluency’ and it even predicts the next word you’re going to type even before you’ve started to type it.

Although the record for fastest text message written was aided with Swype, it is possible to imagine the phrase “The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human” being entered faster than 25 seconds.

Costing just 60 pence until the end of the month, SwiftKey will increase to £2.50 in October so if you want to try the app for a bargain price it is advised that you download it now. And if you don’t have an Android phone to try it on, sell your mobile and buy one.
