With the success of the iPad, a number of other companies are bringing out tablets, and one which has got techies excited in the Samsung Galaxy tablet. However, the price may put people off buying it.

Rumours on the internet have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy could retail at £799, which is a full £100 more than the Apple tablet which flew off the shelves when it was released earlier this year.

However, some are listing the Samsung tablet at just over £600 which undercuts the most popular tablet currently on the market.

The Samsung Galaxy has many additional features which mean it could overthrow Apple, although they will have a hard job defeating the trendy image the iPad has and that may throw cool-conscious customers off.

Featuring the ability to make phone calls, which could allow you to sell your mobile phone instead of owning two devices, the Galaxy also supports both 3G and wi-fi, whereas the iPad only supports 3G if you part money to buy a more expensive model.

In addition to this, the 3-megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera beats the iPad which has no camera at all.

On the flipside though, Apple beat Samsung when it comes to display as it has a screen that is two inches larger than its rival, meaning that you get a better experience when it comes to browsing the internet, watching movies and reading e-books.

If the Samsung Galaxy appeals to you more than the Apple tablet, you could always recycle your iPad and use the cash to buy the rival.
