If you are lucky enough to be going to Bestival this weekend (11/12th September 2010) you might want to take their mobile phone with them because an app which acts as a guide for the festival has been released on a number of mobile platforms.

The Official Bestival Phone App is now available to download to your handset for only £2.99 and is available on a number of different mobiles so you don’t have to sell your phone and buy another to guarantee the app will work on your mobile.

To get the app, please see instructions below: iPhone handsets - Download the app from the App Store on your iPhone or from iTunes. Click here or type in ‘Bestival’ to find it.

Android handsets - To buy the Android version visit the Android Market on your handset and type ‘Bestival’ to search.

Blackberry (apart from Storm models) - To download to your Blackberry, firstly download Blackberry Appworld - click here - on to your handset. When you have done this you will be able to download the Bestival App on to your handset.

Java handsets (eg. Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, etc) - Please type http://bestival.live-apps.co.uk in the browser on your phone, and then follow the instructions on screen. Please note that Java will only be available from this Friday afternoon 4pm onwards.

So what’s on the app exactly? Well there’s all the latest news from organizer of the festival from Rob da Bank and his Sunday Best team as well as the schedule which can be personalised, an interactive map and some vouchers to help you save money on your phone. There are photos and videos provided by Bestival, a twitter community, and loads of useful information.

So don’t bother wasting paper with guides which will get soggy and muddy. Mobile phone recycling the information is way better.
