The high street store taps into the Apple market

Shopping has become a convenience in recent times with the advent of the internet allowing many stores to offer their products in online stores. It is now even easier with dedicated apps to make the process even simpler. One of the stores cashing in on the mobile phone marker is Argos. You may want to trade in your old phone and buy a new one to make the most of it.

The popular retailer, a staple on most high streets up and down the country, has been selling a range of products throughout the years ranging from kitchenware to electronics to children's toys. And now the company is making their store accessible through an app available exclusively on the iPhone.

Argos saw a 600% increase in traffic to its website last year, prompted by the iphone. Acting on this rapid stream of customers, the development of the app enables Apple device users to update their Argos accounts, order items for collection in-store and check the availability of stock in specific stores.

A total of 750,000 people accessed the Argos website through their iPhone said head of multi-channel development David Tarbuck.

He explains: "The biggest trend we've seen in the way customers use their mobile phones to shop has been the increase in product browsing online. We've seen product browsing figures increase by nearly 700% in the last year from the iPhone, so we've developed an app tailored to this consumer trend."

If you sell your phone for cash with Mobile Phone Xchange, we can offer you 10% more than the cash value of your handset in the form of an Argos voucher.
