Read books on the go through your phone

Those who hate carrying around heavy, space-consuming books in their bag to read on the go might want to consider trading in their old phone for cash and buying an Android instead.

The operating system favoured by Google has teamed up with Amazon to announce that they have produced an app for Android which enables them to read books through their phone.

By downloading the app you can:
* Get the best reading experience available on your Android phone. No Kindle required
* Access your Kindle books even if you don't have your Kindle with you
* Automatically synchronizes your last page read and annotations between devices with Whispersync
* Adjust the text size, add bookmarks, and view the annotations you created on your Kindle, computer, or other Kindle-compatible device
* Read in portrait or landscape mode
* Tap on either side of the screen or flick to turn pages

Books that are purchased can also be read on a Kindle, computer, or other Kindle-compatible mobile device. However, Kindle newspapers, magazines and blogs are currently not available on Kindle for Android.

The Kindle for Android requires Android OS 1.6 or greater which allows users of Droid Incredible, Google Nexus One, HTC MyTouch, Motorola CLIQ, Motorola Droid, and many more Android phones the chance to utilise the app to its fullest.
