Vodafone will offer the two new HTC handsets exclusively to UK

Consumers interested in purchasing the Legend and Desire smartphones could well be considering selling their mobiles because from April, Vodafone will offer the two new HTC handsets exclusively to UK customers after striking a deal with the Taiwan-based handset makers.

The HTC Legend is an Android powered handset features a 5.0 mega pixel camera, built-in GPS, stereo FM radio, WiFi and 3.7" touch screen display.

Also arriving in April alongside the Legend and Desire will be Sony's new offering the Xperia X10. In addition, soon after these phones are released Vodafone will be offering the Google Nexus One.

Vodafone will become the first carrier to directly offer Google's Android 2.1 based Nexus One smartphone, however, a release date for the Nexus One on Vodafone has yet to be confirmed. The company only says that it's "Coming soon".

The Nexus One comes equipped with a Snapdragon processor. This powerful processor is the force behind zipping in the menu system and making it possible to watch HD movies and pictures and to load applications quickly. Another interesting feature which has been added is Friend Stream, which pulls all your emails and social networking updates in a single stream making it easier to keep up to date with all your friends.

Users who are short on cash may be tempted to trade in their old handsets and use the many towards upgrading to the powerful Nexus One.
