The brainiacs amongst you will be pleased to know that Barnstorm Games and British Mensa have announced the launch of a new app for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Mensa is a group designed to find the top 2% of clever people in the world, and gives your brain an intense workout to see if you are part of the elite.

Usually, applicants are tested in centres across the UK under supervision from professionals, but with the development of a new app, iPhone users can test to see if they are in the High IQ Society on their own terms.

The mobile test allows users to work through a series of Mensa approved questions, challenging enough to stimulate the minds of even the most experienced of gaming and puzzle aficionados.

However, it is not just a simple brain game like many out there on the market. Because it has been officially approved, it has questions designed to really gruel the person playing.

Available to download from the Apple App store the Mensa Brain Test costs just £1.19, which is a bargain price when paying cash for phone apps. For your money you get a number of levels and topics to assess your skills:

Training Mode: Prepare yourself with 5 practice questions as a warm up for the big test.

3 Test Modes: Short (20 questions)
Medium (40 questions)
Long (60 questions)
Question styles include: Logic, Mathematics, Language and Visual.

Furthermore, you can log your score for future improvement, and also share your scores on Facebook. So if you’re really smart, you’d sell your mobile and buy an iPhone.
